I am not a big fan of domain names starting with "my". However, in this case, what really matters is the name which follows it. True, "astrologer" is much more widespread, but "astrologist" is correct too, so this shouldn't be a problem.

MyAstrologist.com This is a interesting name -
In a discussion the words (my astrologist) among the devout believers would be generically spoken on a regular basis, as a domain name could have some potential. Google (mt astrologist & myastrologist give the same result 17,100,000) Feb 20 - 09. |

I would prefer "My Astrology" for a site catering to astrology in general. To me, "My Astrologist" sounds more like an astrologist directory or where people can come to rate their astrologist. This would be much more limiting, I would think. Lastly, this would be an ideal name for an astrologist or group of astrologists to publish their works online and to offer custom services. Again, a nice name in search of a suitable end user.

In order to server a purpose as a "My" prefix domain, the term needs to be generic and marketable. In this case, Astrologist fits the bill nicely. As economic times darken, people turn more to "emotional comfort" offered by astrology and similar predictive methods.
MyAstrologist is a good, brandable domain. The weakness here is the availability of net/org and the name being registered only 3 years ago. |

This is the sort of domain you see dropping daily. This would probably be a top 1000 out of a drop of 50,000 but not strong enough to reel in and register.
On the bright side, this domain would be decent enough for one of those tarot card reader types you sometimes see working from their trailer homes in the rural countryside. In my view, the... read more |

This is another Reg. Fee valued domain.
You can make other combination of domains with the word "astrologist" in it other than "my" - and they are available to register. |

I have sold a couple of similar "my" domains and mid-to-high double digits should be all this domain brings. The "my" prefix is not popular with a few exceptions like "myspace", etc. Maybe I'm wrong about this one, but in my opinion, It's pretty average at best. Good luck.

There has always been a market for domains with a strong prefix and a good keyword. Using "My" as a prefix is a fantastic way in a social networking world to brand a site. The past sales are an excellent indicator of how popular these types of domains can be:

I love these types of names with easily recognizable and personable prefixes. They create a unique connection in the users mind. Think of others like "MySpace", "MyWay", or My anything . . ..
This name would make a great directory of Astrologists. It's easy to decipher its meaning and there's no confusion about what you should find at such a site. As a bonus, this name would work... read more |
