Harps.net is a single-word generic, representing a big ticket retail item, in a popular niche market.

The term "Harps" generate 5,400 searches per month according to Google, 294/day in Wordtracker and 7,720 'TotalSearches' according to Estibot.
There are over 30+ ppc ads running for 'Harps' right now, a sign of significant end-user potential on this one.

Moreso than the Search/SEO benefits are the marketing benefits to Harp Manufacturers, Harp Distributors, Harp Shops, etc. The name 'Harps.net' serves to immediately represent the owner as an authority in the industry. With the choice of JoesHarpShop.com, StandingPedalHarps.com, TheHarpsStore.com and Harps.net, one stands above and beyond the rest in terms of quality.

One further point to make in terms of the potential value of Harps.net is the value of Harps themselves. A standard harp costs upwards of ~$4,000, with high quality harps easily going above $10,000 or even $50,000 in many cases. The added value of a name that could draw a buyer in for even just a few additional sales per year could easily go into five figures or more.

Watch the video in the Media tab for a great rendition of Stairway to Heaven on the harp.

Harps have been around for thousands of years. While loud guitars, drums and keyboards get more attention, you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful sound than that from a harp played by a talented harpist.

Prices for harps range from lightweight models costing a couple hundred dollars to more than the MRSP of a brand new BMW for a concert quality harp. Harpists are hired to play at weddings to create that extra special ambiance and can charge hundreds for doing do. There is commercial potential here. ...

Determining if a name is valuable should be a breeze for most domain buyers and sellers. Putting a price on a valuable domain is a different story, and a most sought-after skill. In an auction platform, the bidders determine price, and this will typically be best represented when many buyers are in the same market at the same time.

All single word domains have value. A harp is obviously a very common musical instrument, and implies a highly brandable signature. We've observed over the past few years that not only does Google greatly favor older...

The worst thing about this name is that it is a dot net. Other than that it is a great name. When I first saw it I thought harmonicas. It's easier to spell and nobody plays the "real" harp anymore. Harmonicas are still a fairly popular instrument. When I Googled it I was surprised that there was only a few harmonica ads. That could work in the end user's favor because of less competetion for the keyword. I think this name would be a great online store.

This is an old name. Archive's first record is Feb 2001. Harps.com is a built out store selling music and instruments. Dot net is doing well in...
