FixedLoans.com was the domain name that was up for auction before Bido mysteriously crashed back in August '08. The last bid I recall seeing for FixedLoans.com was for $5,000. I have no idea what to expect this time around, but this is one auction you'll certainly want to be sure and tune in for.
On 8/19/2008 I blogged my opinion about FIXEDLOANS.COM - here's the link: http://xr.com/fixedl |

Will this auction be interesting or what?
On the plus side, fixed loans are on more peoples' wish lists now than when the original Bido auction took place. On the negative side, the domain market is down since then. (Not to mention the budgets of loan advertisers.) Which factor will win out? Tough call. That said, I never really understood all of the hoopla about this domain the... read more |

FixedLoans.com may be a good time to auction -
This domain given the economic climate may prove fruitful, it should generate some interest to the lending fraternity, this would depend on getting the attention of the prospective buyers in that market - great name for DBO strategy, (Google fixed loans 81,400,000) Feb19 -09 |

"This name itself has some pretty amazing stats compared to past names that Bido.com has offered. This would, in my opinion, be placed in the top 5 names Bido.com has auctioned off this far.
Some notable stats on the domain are the number of advertisers for the term “Fixed Loans”. There are 93 ads! That is a pretty big amount compared to past names for auction at Bido. None the less that is big compared to the majority of domain names out there for sale. Also the... read more |

This domain will be an absolute bear to develop. I suspect type-in traffic is low, so you will need to focus on building backlinks and coming up with a plan which separates you from every other loan operator on the web.
Your best bet would be to grab this in auction (here at Bido) and sit on it for a couple years (reseller). Perhaps hit up some of the bigger home loan/mortgage houses. Bottom line, you will spend a ton more money in development than it is worth. If you have money to... read more |

The first thing I am struck by upon seeing this domain is how relevant it is in today's market. After a flood of dangerous adjustable rate mortgages resulting in a near recession, stability is a key to both businesses and consumers.
Fixed rate loans are the most sought after commodity in the new economy and FixedLoans.com is a prime mover for this target audience. With Overture/Google bidding over $15 for this keyphrase you know that deep pockets will be jumping in for some action. |

The first word that came to mind when seeing this domain was "Gem". This domain is obviously a step below "fixed rate" but still carries enough weight to say "hey look at me". Some shining stats are 675,000 exact Google results, 300 exact searches/month, and it's 8 years-old.
With the current shift from ARMS to fixed-rate loans, we may see the perfect storm on auction day. The reseller value is middle three figures, but in the open market at auction, a high four-figure sale would not surprise me. This... read more |

There is nothing more sought after by people with adjusting mortgages than a fixed loan. I don't get the 'rate' argument. When you ask what kind of loan you want, the response is a 'fixed' one. Why? Because I don't want an 'adjustable' one. 'rate' is understood in the language IMO.
... and it makes for a shorter domain name. Regardless of how you view the language, this a... read more |

Rick Latona purchased FixedLoans.com in 2004 for $1,000. He then sold the domain name at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C event in 2006 for $10,000. Here we are now two years later and the new owner of FixedLoans.com has decided to sell with Bido.
Above is what I wrote on my blog August 20th. This is the domain name that shut Bido down for the last six months. OK, now that all that is out of the... read more

This is a name that defies the shorter-is-better domain name principle, in my opinion. I would much rather have fixedrateloans.com than fixedloans.com, which sounds incomplete to me. That said, I do believe this name will command a final sales price of mid-to-upper $x,xxx.
